Room 6 is starting to come together and starting to feel like home..

Thanks to our superintendent and some very good friends pulling for all of us that moved classrooms this summer, I was able to have air for a couple of days to work in my classroom.  After many, many hours it's coming together, and I finally feel like  I can sit back a few weeks and get a little summer break so I will ready for the new K-Crew that will be coming to Smith Elementary in August.  I still have things that need to be put together and put up, but I am so proud of how it is looking.  Take a little look into room 6 where I'll be coming from next school year.  Now...it will change a good bit as I work and put more things up at the end of the summer, but I'm happy with it so far.

A look from the door.

The Reading Spot with my new crate bench made with with crates, zip ties, foam ,a table cloth, and baskets.  It turned out so cute.

Back of the room far from finished, but I've got fabric on the boards so  that always makes me feel better.

A look from the reading spot into my corner.  Don't look closely there is still mess back there , but that's ok for now. Look at my cute little rugs I bought from Ross. I love them.

These are my new hook numbers.  I'm proud of them.  I did not take a picture of them up in the hall, so I put one from I first finished them.  Paint, printers, and Modge Podge goes a long way to cuteness.

Pinterest Project....Oh What Fun!

I have completed a Pinterest project and I am so excited how it turned out.  I made the bench out of crates, and used baskets I have in the room. I tied the crates together with zip ties.  For the cushion instead of buying a bench cushion I bought foam and a table cloth for $3.96 at Walmart.  It turned out so cute, and I have enough table cloth left to make some seats for the computers.  The extra color on the front is just ribbon I had.  The crates were a little beat up looking so I wanted to cover up the edges.

The journey has begun. Room 6 here I come.

I have had a very busy weekend and day yesterday.  We packed my room, and now it's sitting in the hall waiting for it's new home.  Every time I have moved over the years I always realize I have so much stuff and need to down size.  The problem is....when I buy something new, I hardly ever take anything out.  Hopefully this move will change some of that.
Last look at room 8 all put together

Another view
Here is all of my mess as we start packing it all up.
All the mess that has to be packed.
Empty shelves.  Yippee!
Never fear the junk is still here.
And here......
Almost empty room except my table and a shelf.  They are next.
It's all in the hall now.  All the way down the hall that is.  Sorry my downhill 1st grade friends.

See you in room 6.  I love to hear any of your organization ideas.

Another group of rock stars are now 1st graders

Hi Everyone.... I have not been on here very much lately.  We were in the process of finishing  our last few weeks of school and it was like you all know crazy.  We did some really cute plant things and made great maps, and believe it or not I did not take pictures.
Now......... I'm in the process of taking room 8 apart and moving to room 6.  You got it....3 feet.  :-)  The great part is that the carpet will be pulled up so hopefully this teacher will not stay so sick with allergies next year.  The bad thing.....I'm having to move everything to the hall until the room is ready sometime this summer.
You always realize you have more things than you will ever need when you start moving. So...my buddy and pal Tiffany (sniff, sniff, sniff) who has been with me for the last 3 years is reaping the benefits.  She will be student teaching in the fall and leaving me.  So very sad, but so very happy for her.
Next year will be a new beginning in lots of ways.  So I will be checking out your blogs looking for lots of classroom ideas and set ups over the summer.  The problem is....my room is not even close to the size of most of the ones I see online.  Got to think on a smaller scale.
Anyway....it's been a fun year blogging with you all and look forward to another school year of blogging fun.
