A Wacky Kind of Read Across America Day

We had a exciting and wonderful day in K-Crew land at Smith Elementary.  It was Read Across America Day.  If any of you know me, I love a reason to dress up, so I along with all the kids that saw me a great day was had with all my "Wackiness".  We began the day by inviting the parents to come in for a snack and reading time with the kids.  We then changed classes, and each K teacher chose a different book to read.  I chose Wacky Wednesday, and had a blast.  Room 6 was very wacky along with Mrs. Ring and Mrs. Rogers :-)  .  Take a look at all of the fun....

My partner in crime Mrs. Kelly Rogers.  I couldn't make it each day without her by my side.  I think I am beginning to rub off on her and bring out the craziness.  :-)  We had fun dressing up for our book Wacky Wednesday.
Room 6 was a little wacky.  Take a look at what happened in our room.  Wow!

Read Across America books, snacks and crafts.

I had the most fun with the pink ink.  Each day I kept telling them I could not wait until they got to try  "Yink, Pink, Ink, Drink".  They would always screech and say yuck.  Some would say....I don't think my mama will let me drink pink ink.  When they all tasted it they wanted seconds, thirds and some fourths. :-)  (Our pink ink was a pink drink I found at Dollar General made up of cherry, mango and pineapple.  It was very tasty for ink.  ;-)

We had snack items to represent several of the Dr. Seuss books.  We let the children choose what they wanted to put in their snack bags.  They loved it.

  1. I love all your ideas. Do you have the printables for the mini books to go with the snacks?
