Just stopping by to say hi

Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted about the classroom this past week.  We are in the crazy world of GKIDS testing, so we've been all about that.  We have been doing some great response to literature that I hope to get up and post this week.  Thursday we are going on a field trip to the Jacksonville Zoo, and Friday we are off of school.  So it will be a short but exciting week for the K-Crew kids.  If you love the ideas on my blog, I would love to hear from you and tell me some ways I can make it better.

Wayne County Relay For Life 2012 Purple Passion Party

I not only have a passion for teaching, but I have a passion for Relay For Life. I had the honor of being the Event Chair for the past three years in Wayne County, Ga. This year I stepped down because of lot things going on in my family's life. So now I'm online chair. I Relay so that hopefully in the very near future no will have to hear those words "you have cancer". I Relay for my family mostly my parents. My parents are the example of what true fighters are when it comes to cancer. The last 13 years have been extremely hard since the first diagnosis, but now the word hard has a whole new meaning. My daddy once again is fighting the fight of his life. So....I relay for him, and to say that I will not let cancer stop me. I will relay until there is a cure

Rocking Read Across America

Today was Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America.  We had a Rockin Great Time in room 8.  Take a look at some of our great work and activities.

Green Egg made by using vanilla pudding (Jello has a green pudding), sprinkles and a vanilla wafer.

Green Eggs - They cut out their own eggs so they are very unique in looks.  We then wrote on the back of the eggs.  They wrote I do not like green eggs and ham.  I do not like them _________ I am or I do like green eggs and ham.  I do like them ____________ I am.

This is my green egg.

We made cat and the hats to wear today.  On the back we responded and wrote the part that we like the best in the book "The Cat in the Hat".

Here is our hat.  We made a rhyming hat with our story writing on the back.
